Chu So-jung (Hangul: 추소정), better known as EXY[1] (엑시), was born on November 6, 1995 (age 24) in Busan, South Korea. She is the leader[1], main rapper[1] and sub-vocalist[citation needed] of the South Korean-Chinese girl group Cosmic Girls and is a member of its Sweet Unit.

HistoryEdit

EXY auditioned for JYP in 2008, but did not pass. She later trained for five years under Starship Entertainmet before debuting as a part of Cosmic Girls. She attended School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA) and graduated in 2013. In 2015, she was one of the contestants of Unpretty Rapstar 2, joining in episode 6 before being eliminated in episode 8. She also released a Mixtape in 2015.

EXY was revealed to be a member of Cosmic Girls on December 21, 2015 when she took part in a cover of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" along with SeolA, Bona, Dawon, Eunseo, Cheng Xiao, Mei Qi and Dayoung, and was later revealed to be a member of its Sweet Unit along with SeolA and Soobin on December 24, 2015 before debuting with the group as the leader and main rapper on February 25, 2016 with their mini-album Would You Like? and the single "MoMoMo".[4][6][7]
